TITLE: Bittern peeking out from dense reeds
INFO: "Photographed from Ivy North Hide, this Bittern was glimpsed right in amongst the most dense area of reeds to the left of the front of the hide, only visible when it stretched its head up. Most times it would be obscured by the tangle of reeds in between but here I managed to get a clear-ish view of its head for this shot, though I've cropped in for web display (otherwise the image would be a 'spot the Bittern' photo!)." February 2011 TECH: Nikon D700, Nikkor 200-400mm f4 zoom lens at 400mm with 1.4x teleconverter, ISO 1400, f8, 1/250 sec. VR on. Hide shelf platform with ball head. Cropped image about 60% of frame. |
