TITLE: | Bittern threat display
|
INFO: | As previous image, the Bittern continues its threat display as it walks towards the other bird, now well on the alert.
A major problem here was the scattered whitish stems of Reedmace plants between the bird and the hide which were a great irritation to us photographers as they became large out-of-focus vertical bars usually obscuring important parts of the bird subject and which were difficult and time-consuming to retouch out - here I was lucky and just had to retouch out one such stem near the lower left quarter which only obscured a small part of the wing." March 2012 (Ivy North Hide) |
TECH: | Nikon D700, Nikkor 200-400mm f4 zoom lens at 400mm, ISO 1250, f5.6, 1/500 sec.
Lens rested on hide window sill. Cropped image about 40% of frame (from vertical full frame FX-format image). |
