TITLE:  Moorhen about to land on calm water with reflection

INFO: "This image may look like it should be part of the previous 'Moorhen landing on water' sequence but actually was taken a couple of weeks later when I had returned to Goosander Hide on another morning with great light and this time with water which was truly mirror-calm, so the chance to get some images with great reflections.

This Moorhen may well be the same one as in the previous images though, as it appeared quite far out again, took off and flew in obliquely towards the hide in almost the exact same line, and again I had plenty of time to get on to it, get good autofocus lock-on, and then track it in, zooming out slightly as it came closer.

Again, it decided to land on the water reasonably close in to the hide and I fired away as it began to brake prior to splashdown, with this image capturing almost the ideal moment with wings spread nicely and not in some odd untidy position as often happens with Moorhen in flight.

A great reflection in the virtually mirror-calm water, which had a couple of feathers and a few small bits on it which I retouched out for a nice 'clean' image. The bird's position relative to its reflection has not been altered and is as shot."
