TITLE: Bittern stretching up to look around
INFO: "Same day same bird as previous image. It had crossed the more open channel and moved closer in to the hide but then was hidden behind the foreground reeds giving just tantalising glimpses as it moved around. Every so often its head would slowly rise up from the reeds, periscope-like, to take a look around." February 2012 (Ivy North Hide) TECH: Nikon D700, Nikkor 200-400mm f4 zoom lens at 310mm, ISO 1000, f4, 1/500 sec. Lens rested on hide window sill. Cropped image about 50% of frame (from full-frame FX-format image). |
