TITLE:  Moorhen flapping over calm water

INFO: "Another day with calm water in front of Goosander Hide, so possibility of working with reflections. Not much around apart from the Sand Martins to begin with but a Moorhen pair were nearby and frequently came in close to the hide.

Whenever Moorhens appear on the calm water I usually follow them with the camera as they are rather nervous birds in open water, often picked on by Coots, and sometimes they suddenly decide that swimming is not fast enough (they don't have webbed feet) and take flight - or at least flap and run across the water - and by tracking them with the camera one is ready for this action if it happens.

This Moorhen appeared so I tracked it and, indeed, it decided to flap/run across the water giving me this image with good wing position and great leg position and reasonable reflection but, unfortunately, a bit too close in and so right in the shadow of the hide, making the resultant capture difficult to get a decent final image from."
