TITLE: Bittern on alert
INFO: "Same day as previous images, even later in the afternoon. I'd seen and heard some movement in the reedbed to the south of the hide and after a few minutes this Bittern emerged, walking out into the shallow water by the reedbed, standing in this alert pose and looking rather nervous. It soon became clear that it was being 'chased' off by another (third?) Bittern in the reedbed behind it." March 2012 (Ivy North Hide) TECH: Nikon D700, Nikkor 200-400mm f4 zoom lens at 400mm, ISO 1600, f4, 1/350 sec. Lens rested on hide window sill. VR on. Cropped image about 20% of frame (from horizontal full-frame FX-format image). |
